IPCEI Next Generation Cloud Infrastructures and Services DigiTDevOps

The "DigiTDevOps" project aims to develop a modular digital twin development and operations platform, which would simplify the creation of urban digital twins. Currently urban digital twins are developed on a case by case basis, which makes the process complex and costly. Unlike existing digital twin development solutions, the DigiTDevOps platform will be comprised of standardized, modular components, which will streamline building digital twins using various data formats and types of edge computing equipment.

SIA "DATI Group" has launched the research project "Development of the DigiTDevOps digital twin development and operation platform" on June 4, 2024, under the European Union's recovery and resilience mechanism plan, specifically in the framework of reform and investment direction 5.1 "Increasing productivity through investment in R&D," sub-action 5.1.1.r reform "Innovation management and motivation for private R&D investment," and sub-action 5.1.1.2.i investment "Support instrument for research and internationalization" (4th round).

The project aims to develop an open, modular platform for digital twin development and operation, DigiTDevOps, based on the latest scientific knowledge. This platform will be built in a combined (edge-cloud) environment and will support the full lifecycle of digital twins focused on urban environments. The platform will facilitate the accumulation of knowledge, sharing of data, and digital twin modules, as well as reduce technological barriers to digital twin development and operation, thereby making this technology more accessible.

The project will increase private R&D spending through targeted public investments aimed at fostering the development of new products and technologies while engaging in projects of common European interest.

This project will promote the development of new technology—a platform for digital twin development and operation—and will be implemented within the framework of an Important project of common european interest (IPCEI-CIS).

MESSAGE IN SIMPLE LANGUAGE

Digital Twins Will Improve Cities

As of June 4, 2024, SIA "DATI Group" has launched a researchproject called "DigiTDevOps." This project is supported by EuropeanUnion funds allocated for economic development.

The aim of the project is to create a platform that will help developand utilize "digital twins." Digital twins are virtual models thathelp to understand and improve the functioning of cities. With this platform,it will be easier to create and use digital twins, making this technology moreaccessible.

The project will also help to develop new technologies and promotecollaboration with other European projects.
The project will last for 43 months, with an allocated support of approximately3.72 million euros.
